This plant is often between four to six feet tall. Unlike other rare plants, which have large amounts in small areas, the tall bugbane has few plants spread over very large areas. The flowers this plant produces are made beautiful not by petals, but by clusters of stamens.
This plant makes an ideal natural home-bug repellent. When aggravated by insects landing on it, it releases a puff of "pollen" that kills insects and other bugs. When crushed, the plant's pulp can be used as an insect repellent. The "pollen," when properly gathered, can be used in sneezing potions.
